THE FORMULA

DPI conversion without guesswork

First calculate current eDPI: current DPI × current sensitivity. Then divide that value by the new DPI. For example, 800 DPI × 1.0 sensitivity equals 800 eDPI. Moving to 1600 DPI requires 0.5 sensitivity to keep the same 800 eDPI.

THE LIMIT

Same game, same input scale

eDPI is reliable for changing hardware DPI inside one game. A different game may translate one sensitivity unit into a different rotation angle. Use a verified cm/360 workflow when moving between games rather than assuming the same eDPI is universal.

THE CHECK

Measure before and after

If the converted setting feels wrong, verify that mouse acceleration is disabled, the game has accepted the decimal value, and the mouse really changed to the selected DPI profile. The DPI analyzer can help check the effective hardware setting.

Sensitivity converter questions

How do I convert sensitivity when changing DPI?+

Multiply your current DPI by your current sensitivity to get eDPI, then divide that eDPI by the new DPI. The result preserves the same effective setting inside the same game.

What is eDPI?+

eDPI is mouse DPI multiplied by in-game sensitivity. It is useful for comparing settings inside the same game, but it is not automatically comparable across games with different input scales.

Can I use this as a game-to-game sensitivity converter?+

This calculator is designed for changing DPI while staying in the same game. Different games can use different yaw values and field-of-view behavior, so a simple eDPI number is not a reliable cross-game conversion.

Does changing DPI change my physical mouse speed?+

Yes, unless you lower or raise the in-game sensitivity to compensate. The converter calculates the matching sensitivity that keeps eDPI unchanged.

Is the sensitivity calculation private?+
